Lesego Kyle Mnyandu, better known by his stage name Flvme, is rapidly becoming one of South Africa’s most electrifying voices in the music scene. Born on September 10, 1999, in Vosloorus, Gauteng, Flvme’s journey to stardom is rooted in his early years in the vibrant communities of South Africa, where his passion for music was nurtured.

Raised initially in Vosloorus and later in the small town of Hamanskraal, Flvme was deeply influenced by his close-knit family and the culture surrounding him. His formative years were pivotal in shaping his musical aspirations.

His musical journey began in earnest during his high school years when he moved to Katlehong, a township in the East of Gauteng. It was here that Flvme’s love for music flourished, with an introduction to the art of rapping through his brother, who was also a rapper.

The sounds of Lil Wayne, Drake, Chris Brown, and other iconic artists from that era sparked a fire in Flvme’s heart. His early experiences led him to join the school choir, setting the foundation for his future in music.

Flvme’s first major step into the music industry came with the release of his debut single, Shots to the Brain, which quickly gained attention in the streets of Katlehong. His talent did not go unnoticed, and soon, he was collaborating with prominent figures in the local music scene, including F-EEZY, the late brother of well-known rapper Pro Kid. This early success set the stage for Flvme’s rise to fame.

In 2016, Flvme took a bold leap of faith and submitted his music to Ambitiouz Entertainment, where he was welcomed into the label and later became part of the influential music collective, The Wrecking Crew. His time with the group allowed him to hone his craft and gain invaluable industry experience. However, in 2019, Flvme made the decision to strike out on his own as an independent artist, marking a new chapter in his career.

Since going solo, Flvme’s career has continued to soar. His debut album, Candy Man, has been met with widespread acclaim and is currently dominating the iTunes charts. The album, a reflection of his evolution as an artist, showcases his ability to craft not only hits but also timeless music. Flvme’s hunger for artistic growth has seen him collaborate with some of the biggest names in South African hip-hop, including Da L.E.S, A-Reece, B3nchMarQ, Zoocci Coke Dope, Emtee, Sjava, and many others. These collaborations have cemented his place among South Africa’s most promising and versatile talents.

In addition to his chart-topping singles like The Message, Money Today, Celebration, and Serenade, Flvme has earned recognition for his powerful visual storytelling in music videos, which collectively have garnered millions of views on platforms like YouTube. His track The Message has amassed over 350,000 views, and his other hits continue to draw attention and praise from fans and critics alike.

Beyond his musical achievements, Flvme has also made his mark in the commercial space, partnering with major brands such as Castle Lite, Luc Belaire, and Bacardi. His collaborations with other artists on notable projects like Do Not Disturb with Zoocci Coke Dope and Long Lost Letters (L3) with A-Reece, Ecco, and Wordz further showcase his versatility and commitment to producing high-quality music.

Flvme’s rise to prominence has not gone unnoticed in the industry. In 2018, he was nominated for the prestigious HypeFreshman award, hosted by HypeMagazine, recognizing his potential as one of the brightest stars in South African hip-hop. His growing social media presence also speaks volumes about his popularity, with over 67,000 followers on Instagram, 182,000 followers on Twitter, and 30,000 likes on Facebook and counting.

Despite being relatively young with just a few years in the music industry, Flvme’s story is one of resilience, ambition, and pure talent. From his humble beginnings in Vosloorus to becoming an independent artist with a global reach, Flvme has proven that hard work, dedication, and a love for music can take you far. His journey is a testament to the power of passion and the endless possibilities that lie ahead for this rising star.

Flvme is undoubtedly one to watch, as he continues to bring fire to the South African hip-hop scene and beyond.
